Start Them

QB Jay Cutler: Jay Cutler was great vs. the raiders without star WR Brandon Marshall. With Royal and Marshall both in he should be great.

QB Kurt Warner: Warner is playing the bad Miami Defense, he will have a good game.

QB Eli Manning: Manning is playing ST. Louis who were terrible last week against the pass, Manning will have a good game.

RB: Brandon Jacobs: Jacobs is playing the Stl D. whom were terrible last year against the run.

RB Larry Johnson: Johnson loves facing the Raiders. In his past five games against Oakland, Johnson has seven rushing touchdowns and four 100-yard games. The Raiders, who were No. 31 in run defense last year and led the NFL with 24 rushing touchdowns allowed, started this season off where last year ended. Denver ran for 142 yards and three touchdowns in Week 1, so look for Johnson to keep it going. With Brodie Croyle out, Johnson should get plenty of carries.

Sit Them

RB Jamal Lewis: Lewis is never good vs. the Pittsburgh steelers, dont expect a good game.

QB: Matt Hasselbeck: Matt is missing all his good WR's so dont expect a good game.

Rb Fred Taylor: The Jaguars have struggled to run the ball going back to their last two playoff games against Pittsburgh and New England and Week 1 at Tennessee. Those are three of the top run defenses, but teams are stacking the box and forcing the Jaguars to pass. Taylor was held to 18 yards on nine carries against the Titans and could struggle against a stout Buffalo defense. Jacksonville's offensive line is also a mess, which won't help Taylor and the ground game.

So the first week of the NFL is over, 15 left to go.

Broncos QB Jay Cutlers stock is on the rise and dont think his MNF performance was a fluke, this kid is good. He was playing verse a good raiders secondary and was missing star WR Brandon Marshall. Its scary to think what Cutler will do with Marshall.

Broncos WR Brandon Marshall is returning from a 1 week suspension so WR Eddie Royal wont have nearly as a good games in the following weeks

Patriots QB Matt Cassel looks like the man in NE after Brady went down. With his arsenal of weapons, moss, walker, expect him to have decent games.

Vince Young, the Titans QB is hurt and will miss around 3 games.

Fantasy Update September 6th

We are so close to the first Sunday of the Football Season. What to watch this weekend.

LJ Smith. The eagles TE will be a big target for Donovan McNabb because both the starting WR's are hurt. Smith is in many cases on a FA in your league, If he does well pick him up.

Jamal Lewis. The RB for the Browns is a game time desicion, watch the situation carefully.

Patriots TE Watson is doubtful to play this sunday

Broncos WR's Darrel Jackson and Eddie Royal should see alot of balls thrown there way this weekend, more than usual because Brandon Marshall is hurt, If Royal is on youre team you start him if you need to.

Bucs WR Galloway is questionable this sunday.

Fantasy Update September 5th

Giants WR Plaxico Burress played exellently in the Season opener against the Redskins. He caught 10 passes for 130 yds. If he stays healthy all season he could have his best season. Also Giants RB Brandon Jacobs had a good game running for 116 yds.

Seahawks WR Deion Branch is out against the Buffalo.

Jets WR Coles is questionable for Week 1

Brandon Marshall's suspension was reduced from 3 games to 1 today by Roger Goodell. I think Marshall will put up similar numbers to 2007 even though he is missing a game.

Tony Dungy says Peyton Manning should be ready for the start of the season against Chicago.

The Texans expect Ahman Green back in Time for the regular season. Green is a good back but he is old and is easily injured, if you need a RB pick him up off waivers and see how he does.

Bengals RB Rudi Johnson requested a trade and probably will get it, watch this situation closely as where he lands will greatly effect his overall 2008 situation.

49'ers RB Frank Gore's stock is on the rise with Mike Martz offense because not only will Gore get the ball alot he will recieve alot of passes.

1. Ladanian Tomlinson- He proves year in and year out that he is the best, I am sorry Adrian but youre going to have to give a couple more years to beat this guy
2. Adrian Peterson-Good but struggles stay healthy
3.Brian Westbrook-very versatile
4. Joseph Addia-good back, tough, expect an even better year then 2007
5. Steven Jackson-solid back with great recieving skills should have a rebound year.
6. Marshawn Lynch-good back, with one year under his belt he should improve
7. Clinton Portis-IF he stays healthy it should be a good year for Portis
8. Frank Gore-should put up solid numbers
9. Tom Brady-i dont like qb's but even if he has a much worse year then last year (which he probably will) it should still be a great year.
10. Ryan Grant
11. Marion Barber
12. Larry Johnson-Johnson has alot of carries on him so be wary

Broncos TE Tony Sheffler was demoted to #2 pass catching TE in favor of Nate Jackson. Jackson however has the tendency to get hurt so sheffler could deffinitely still get his chance to shine.

Seahawks RB Maurice Morris started in the 3rd pre-season game which is usually for starters. Excpect Morris to get around 10 carries a week.

Broncos WR Eddie Royal could put up good stats during Brandon Marshalls suspension.

Matt Ryan fantasy value rose seriously when he was selected to start the season but be wary he could easily faulter during his rookie season

JT O'Sullivan was selected to start at QB for the 49'ers, practically an unknown chances are good he went undrafted in your draft, if you are thin at the QB position go ahead and pick him up.

Brandon Marshall and Steve Smith are both having great pre-seasons but both are suspended for 2-3 games, 2-3 in marshalls case and 2 in smiths case, although Marshall will appeal to Roger Goodell next week. If possible trade for one of them because there value is low but they will make an immediate impact when they return

Kurt Warner was selected to start at QB for the opening game for the cardinals. Although old he was effective last year and will be this year.

Jets wide recievers value is on the rise after the aquisition of Brett Favre who seems to be off to a good start with his new team. If Laveranues Coles stays healthy he could have a great year, Jerricho Crotchery who had his best year last year even with shacky QB play could have a career year.

Fantasy Wide recievers arent as important as running backs or quarterbacks but they are still very important seing as you have to have atleast two starting at all times in most leagues. Having solid recievers can be the difference between a championship or missing the playoffs. Many people build there team only around qb's and rb's but a team that is solid at all positions is often the one to win the championship.

Moss while he wont duplicate his record breaking year he should still have a monster year by all standards. Best reciever headed into 2008.

#2. Terrell Owens-year 13-age 34-BYE WEEK 10

2007 stats-1355 yds-15 td's
T.O. is getting old but is an great shape and should continue to shine.

Wayne is the new Marvin Harrison and he should get Marvin numbers. He proved himself last year when he led the league in rec. yards.

Johnson missed time last year but when healthy he posted awesome numberss. Expect a great year.

Expect edwards to post simialar numbers to 2007.

2008 projections-1621 yds-15 td's-450 rec yds-2 rec td's-1 fumb.
2007 stats-1474-15 td's-475 rec yds-3 rec td's-0 fumb.
Adrian Peterson might be the next big thing but he gets injured easily and has shown only one year of explosiveness in the NFL. LT constantly proves himself and has been the leading rusher in the NFL for 2 straight years. With Michael Turner out of the mix I expect LT to improve from last years number and repeat as the leading NFL rusher.

#2 Adrian Peterson-Year 2-Age 23-BYE WEEK 8

Adrian Peterson was flat out insane last year recording a record 296 yds in one game. He was on pace to gain 2,000 yds before he got hurt. Thats his problem he hasnt been fully healthy for a whole season since a freshman in college. Still his numbers are too good to pass up.

#3 Brian Westbrook- Year 7- Age 29-BYE WEEK 7
2008 projections-1350 yds-9 td's-715 rec yds-4 rec td's-2 fumb
2007 stats-1333- 7 td's-771 rec yds-5 td's-1 fumb.
Westbrook is the most versatile back in the league. Expect good numbers.

# 4. Steven Jackson
2008 projections- 1295 yds-10 td's-511 rec yds-2 rec td's-2 fumb.
2007 stats-1002 yds-5 td's-271 rec yds-1 rec td-2 fumb.
Last year Jackson was playing hurt and with a terrible o-line. Expect him to rebound especially with new offensive coordinater Al Saunders who plans to build the attack around him.

# 5. Joseph Addai-year 3-age 25-BYE WEEK 4
2008 projections-1202 yds-13 td's-358 rec yds-2 rec td's-2 fumb.
2007 stats-1072 yds-12 td's-364 rec yds-3 rec td's-0 fumb.
Expect Addia to get the ball more in 2008. With Manning on his side of the ball defenses cant afford to stack the defensive line giving Addia alot more room and oppurtunity to run.

Last year the Fantasy importance of the Quarterback exploded. In 2006 4 of the top 10 fantasy players were quarterbacks but in 2007, 7 quarterbacks were top 10 fantasy players. Tom Brady led the way but don't expect as great a year for him in 2008.

2007 totals-4806 yds- 50 td- 98 rush yds-2 rush td's-8 int-4 fumb
Dont expect as good a year for Brady in 2008. He lost Donte Stallworth who really stretched defenses and opened up oppurtunities for Welker and Moss. He is still the QB in the draft.

# 2. Peyton Manning-year 11- age 32- BYE WEEK 4
2008 projected stats- 4211 yds-28 td's-65 rush yds-2 rush td's-10 int 2 fumb.
2007 stats-4040 yds-31 td's- -5 rush yds- 3 rush td's- 14 int 1 fumb.
If Harrison is healthy for the start of the season expect even better numbers for Manning. He should still have a great year.

2007 stats-4211 yds- 36 td's- 129 rush yds-2 rush td's- 19 int 2 fumb.
Romo thrived last year and is expected to have another great year. He should be one of the first three quarterbacks taken in the draft.

Projected stats-4190 yds-25 td's-101 rush yds-3 rush td-15 int 2 fumb.
2007 stats-4423 yds-28 td's- 52 rush yds- 1 rush td-18 int 4 fumb
Brees is still an elite fantasy quarterback that can produce good points. Another solid year is expected.

# 5. Ben Roethlisberger-year 5-age 26- BYE WEEK 6
Projected Stats-3,615 yds-31 td's-189 rush yds-2 rush td's- 16 int 3 fumb.
2007 stats-3154 yds-32 td's- 204 rush td's-2 rush td's-11 int 3 fumb.
Roethlisberger got back from a poor 2006 year. With a good running game teams will need to focus on it giving Roethlisberger more room to throw. He has the second easiest pass defense schedule in the league so expect great numbers.
